WJ expands operations into Saudi Arabia

Oxagon, NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
March 2024

Less than one year after registering our business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, WJ Saudi has launched its new website and celebrated a third contract award at the new port at Oxagon, NEOM’s floating industrial city.

With a burgeoning market and a thriving construction economy, Saudi Arabia presents a strategic opportunity for WJ to capitalize on its global reputation for delivering high-quality water management solutions, whether it’s within major infrastructures, industrial facilities, or other complex environments.

WJ’s decision to enter the Saudi market comes hot on the heels of increased global demand for our group’s design capability and deep understanding of hydrogeology and complex geotechnical applications. The Saudi government has announced ambitious plans to transform the Saudi economy through diversification and anticipates numerous mega-scale tourism, industrial, and urban development endeavours along the dual coastlines of the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea. These coastal developments will require carefully designed and implemented pumping schemes.

For decades, WJ has become known for its trusted global expertise in the field of dewatering and pumping projects in the Middle East including Qatar and the UAE. With an emphasis on sustainability and protection of the marine environment, WJ minimises other impacts using industry leading equipment and innovative future-thinking techniques on each of its projects.

WJ’s expansion into Saudi Arabia will create numerous job opportunities for local talent; there are plans to hire skilled professionals across various disciplines. Moreover, the company is committed to fostering partnerships with local contractors and businesses to aid the Kingdom’s economy.

Commenting on the expansion, WJ’s CEO, Richard Fielden, expressed confidence in the company’s ability to thrive within the dynamic Saudi market. He emphasized WJ’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of Saudi customers, in tandem with contributing to the country’s economic growth. With a proven track record for success and dedication to excellence, WJ is keen to become a leading player in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving construction and pumping services sector.
